Renewable Diesel Plant: Next-Generation Biofuel Manufacturing

Kerone Engineering Solutions Ltd., through its Kerone Biochar division, leads the renewable fuels revolution with comprehensive design, construction, and manufacturing capabilities for advanced renewable diesel production facilities. Unlike traditional biodiesel (FAME), renewable diesel is produced through hydroprocessing technology, creating a drop-in fuel chemically identical to petroleum diesel with superior performance characteristics.

Renewable Diesel vs. Biodiesel: While both renewable diesel and biodiesel are produced from similar feedstocks (vegetable oils, animal fats, waste oils), their production processes and resulting products differ fundamentally:

Biodiesel (FAME): Produced through transesterification, requires blending with petroleum diesel, has limitations in cold weather, and requires engine modifications for high-level blends
Renewable Diesel: Produced through hydrotreatment/hydrocracking, is chemically identical to petroleum diesel, performs in all weather conditions, requires no blending, and works in all diesel engines without modification
