If we want to calculate chances of occurrence of an event, we use following Probability Formula:
Probability of occurrence of an event ‘A’
= (number of ways to event A occur) / (total number of possible outcomes),
Like we have an event X: A single 6 sided die is rolled, so for finding the probability to getting an even number, we use above Probability Formula:
Probability of occurrence of an event ‘X’
= (number of ways to even number occur) / (total number of possible outcomes),
As we all know there are 3 even Numbers 2, 4, 6 exist on a die,
= 3 / 6,
= 1 / 2.
