Density Property Of Real Numbers

Density Property Of Real Numbers

Submitted by • July 17, 2012

Now we will talk about the density property of real numbers: according to it the numbers of real numbers are infinite, which means that real numbers cannot be counted and there can exist uncountable number of real numbers in the number system. To study and understand it in detail, let us try to find the number of real numbers between any two given real numbers say 2/5 and 4/5. We can see that there exist only one number 3/5 between 2/5 and 4/5. But again when we proceed and try to find another real number between 2/5 and 3/5, then we proceed to find the mid value or ( say Mean ) of these two real numbers.
